Heaven's Greatest Announcement: Gresha Schuilling Releases 'Good News of Great Joy'

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.’” - Luke 2:10 (NIV)

The greatest announcement in human history was entrusted to men the world might never have noticed.

On the hills outside Bethlehem, shepherds were keeping watch over their flocks, unaware that an ordinary night was about to become extraordinary. No royal court had summoned them. No earthly messenger had prepared them. Yet heaven chose these humble witnesses to hear the news that generations had been waiting to receive: the promised Saviour had been born.

This remarkable encounter inspires 'Good News of Great Joy', the fourth single from Gresha Schuilling's forthcoming five-song Christmas EP, 'A Son Is Given'. Released on October 29, 2026, the song brings the angelic announcement of Christ's birth to life through a celebration of wonder, worship, and the joy of sharing the Gospel.

Drawing from Luke 2:8-20, Isaiah 9:6-7, Psalm 96:2-3, and Philippians 2:10-11, the song follows the shepherds from their first moments of fear to the overwhelming joy of discovering the promised Messiah.

The announcement was extraordinary not only because of what was proclaimed, but because of whom it was given to. God chose ordinary shepherds to receive news intended for all humanity. The Saviour had come, and the invitation to rejoice would extend far beyond the fields of Bethlehem.

Then, as though a single angel could no longer contain the magnitude of the moment, the heavens filled with a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and declaring His glory.

The song's chorus transforms that historic proclamation into a present-day celebration: “Good news of great joy, our Saviour has been born.” With uplifting contemporary worship, jubilant rhythms, and triumphant musical arrangements, it invites listeners to join the praise that began on that extraordinary night.

Yet the story does not end with the angels' song. The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem, found the Child just as they had been told, and returned glorifying God while spreading the news of what they had witnessed.

That response becomes the heart of the song's bridge. The joy entrusted to those first witnesses is now ours to proclaim, carrying the message of Christ's coming to every heart and every generation.

Following the eternal promise of 'A Son Is Given', Mary's surrender in 'Let It Be To Me', and the revelation of Christ's divinity in 'The Word Became Flesh', this fourth release brings the Christmas story into the open fields of Bethlehem, where heaven's announcement becomes humanity's invitation to worship.

'Good News of Great Joy' celebrates a message that has never lost its power: the Saviour has come, His Kingdom will never end, and the good news first proclaimed to shepherds still belongs to all people.

'Good News of Great Joy' is available on all major streaming platforms from October 29, 2026. The complete five-song Christmas EP, 'A Son Is Given', will be released on November 1, 2026.
