Drawing from Isaiah 9:2, 6-7, Micah 5:2, Luke 2:11, Ephesians 1:4-10, and 2 Timothy 1:9, the song looks beyond the familiar scenes of Christmas to reveal the eternal purpose behind Christ's birth. The Child born in Bethlehem was no ordinary child. He was the promised Messiah, the eternal Creator who entered His own creation to reveal the Father's heart and accomplish the salvation planned before time began.
